Summary: We are seeking a skilled AWS Database Engineer with hands-on experience in Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and Amazon DynamoDB to design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available, and secure database solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both relational and NoSQL databases and a passion for performance tuning, automation, and cloud-native architecture. Roles & Responsibilities: -Design, deploy, and manage Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and DynamoDB databases in production environments. -Develop and maintain schema definitions, indexes, and performance-optimized queries. -Implement backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies using native AWS tools. -Monitor performance and perform tuning for query optimization and resource usage. -Automate database operations using AWS Lambda, CloudWatch, and Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform). -Work with development teams to ensure application data requirements are met with optimal database designs. -Manage data migrations, replication, and synchronization strategies between systems. -Secure data using encryption, IAM policies, parameter groups, and audit trails. -Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and connectivity issues. -Stay current with AWS database service updates and implement best practices. Professional & Technical Skills: -5+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL , NoSQL databases, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. -2+ years of experience with Amazon DynamoDB, including global tables, streams, and capacity -management. -Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and NoSQL query patterns. -Strong understanding of AWS services including VPC, IAM, KMS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager. -Experience with data modeling and partitioning for DynamoDB and PostgreSQL. -Knowledge of database migration tools like AWS DMS or pg_dump/pg_restore. -Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. -Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills. Additional Information: -AWS Certified Database – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification. -Experience with other AWS database offerings such as RDS, Redshift, or ElastiCache. -Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database changes.15 years full time education
