Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) Lead

We are seeking an experienced Product Lifecycle Management Associate Director/Senior Manager to lead the project lifecycle management functions and overall delivery of complex, large-scale defence or manufacturing industry programs in Australia. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, providing technical leadership, and ensuring successful delivery in line with Australian Defence standards and Manufacturing industry standards.
The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of project lifecycle management best practices, Australian industry standards, and experience delivering within government, original equipment manufacturer, and Tier 1 contractor environments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead global functional and technical teams
- Coach the implementation team with members from internal Accenture and the client
- Lead customer workshops and facilitate process and technical discussions
Functional and Technical Delivery
- Perform Product Engineering and Manufacturing & Digital Operations. Generate your own plans, manage logistics, and provide internal and external status. Familiar with methodologies such as waterfall and Agile
- Work closely with the Accenture team and key stakeholders to understand requirements, owning specifications and design documents, and deploy the applications
- Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint
- Provide Functional system solutions for PLM/ ALM / MES systems
- Lead in the functional design and the functional Architecture of the solution
- Design and implement application configurations to meet business process and application requirements. Review and approve functional specifications and conduct code walk-through
- Gather and analyse data and develop architectural requirements at project level
- Develop test plans to assure that developed solution satisfies client requirement
Stakeholder & Program Engagement
- Lead customer workshops and facilitate process and technical discussions
- Work closely with the Accenture team and key stakeholders to understand requirements, owning specifications and design documents, and deploy the applications
Governance & Compliance
- Accountable for quality deliverables such as traceable requirements, process maps, user stories, and functional specifications
- Act as an advocate of Product Lifecycle Management best practices, methods, and processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong background in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, with a solid grasp of multidisciplinary principles and system-level thinking.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver across the full project lifecycle, particularly within complex programs and high-impact manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, defence, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and consumer goods.
- Skilled in the use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms including Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault 3DExperience, PTC Windchill, or comparable systems to support product development and configuration control.
- Deep understanding of Engineering and Manufacturing IT ecosystems, with hands-on experience integrating platforms such as ERP, PLM, MES, ALM, and QMS to enable digital thread continuity and enterprise-wide collaboration.
- Adept at navigating cross-functional environments, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions that drive operational efficiency and innovation.
Highly Desirable
- Security clearance (e.g., NV1, Baseline, or AGSVA eligibility).
- End to end product delivery experience
- Experience with 3D visualization, AR/VR, IoT, Blockchain, compliance, sustainability
- Systems Implementation methodology knowledge (Agile Methodology, Waterfall)
- Good analytical & troubleshooting skills
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
