Summary: As a Simulation Engineer specializing in Warehouse Operations, you will drive operational excellence by developing and analyzing discrete event simulation models using tools like Simio, Flexsim, and Anylogic. Your work will focus on optimizing warehouse processes such as order picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management to address challenges like e-commerce demand surges, automation integration, and space constraints. By performing throughput analysis, bottleneck identification, and material flow optimization, you will deliver actionable insights to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Roles & Responsibilities: - Design and develop discrete event simulation models for warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and material handling processes. - Analyze warehouse layouts, staffing levels, and equipment utilization to optimize throughput and minimize bottlenecks. - Conduct material flow analysis to streamline operations, reduce handling times, and optimize storage configurations. - Validate simulation models using real-world data from warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accuracy and reliability. - Integrate simulation models with WMS or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to align with operational workflows. - Document simulation methodologies, assumptions, and results in detailed reports for stakeholders. Professional & Technical Skills: Must Have Skills: - Proficiency in discrete event simulation tools, including Simio, Flexsim, or Anylogic, with hands-on experience in modeling warehouse processes. - Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including order picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management. - Expertise in throughput analysis, bottleneck identification, and material flow optimization, with a proven track record of delivering measurable improvements. - Ability to analyze large datasets from WMS or IoT systems to inform simulation models and validate results. - Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on translating business requirements into simulation solutions. - Strong communication skills to present complex technical insights to diverse stakeholders. Good to Have skills: - Proficiency in programming languages like Python (Pandas, NumPy) or Java for custom simulation development or data analysis. - Familiarity with integrating simulation models with WMS (e.g., SAP EWM, Manhattan Associates) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). - Exposure to warehouse automation technologies, such as AGVs, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), or conveyor systems. Tooling / Platform Exposure: - Simulation Tools: Simio (e.g., Simio Enterprise), Flexsim (e.g., Flexsim Warehouse), Anylogic (e.g., Material Handling Library). - Data Analysis Tools: Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib), R, Tableau for visualization and validation. - Warehouse Systems: SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Manhattan Associates, Oracle WMS. - Automation Technologies: AGVs (e.g., Kiva Systems), AS/RS, conveyor systems, IoT sensors. Additional Info: - Bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - Good to have: Certifications in simulation tools (e.g., Simio Certified Simulation Modeler, Flexsim Certification) - This position is based at Bangalore or Pune - Candidate should have minimum 7 years of experience in related field.15 years full time education
