THE WORK:
- You’ll assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost plans, and tender documents using industry standards such as NRM and SMM.
- You’ll perform take-offs and measurements from drawings and specifications, either manually or using software like CostX, Bluebeam, or AutoCAD.
- You’ll aid in administering contracts such as NEC, JCT, or FIDIC, including assessing variations, valuations, and subcontractor payments.
- You’ll assist with change order management and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- You’ll support cost monitoring, budget tracking, and cash flow forecasting.
- You’ll help prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and cost reports for senior QS and managers.
- You’ll assist in procuring materials and subcontractors through price comparisons, tender analysis, and negotiation, while maintaining records of subcontractor agreements and progress payments.
- You’ll liaise with site teams, clients, and consultants to gather data for valuations and claims, while ensuring accurate documentation of site measurements, progress reports, and delays.
- You’ll identify potential cost risks and opportunities for value engineering, supporting senior QS in dispute resolution and claims avoidance.
- You’ll utilize QS software such as CostX, Revit, or BIM 4D/5D for efficient project delivery while adhering to company policies, industry regulations (RICS/CIOB), and quality standards.
- Remote: This role allows for remote work for the majority of your work hours.
- With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.
$100,000 - $120,000 a year
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in cost estimating
- Professional experience using advanced functions in CostX to produce estimates, bills, and related outputs.
- Professional experience using required Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to an appropriate level.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Data Centre experience
- Knowledge of relevant construction technologies and trends (Sustainability) to assist on appropriate options and cost implications.
- Field experience
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Organization and detail-oriented skills
