Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled Mainframe COBOL Developers to join our Cards technology team. The role involves development, maintenance, and support of card transaction systems using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and related technologies. Candidates must have hands-on experience in banking card platforms such as CardLink or VisionPlus, and a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Mainframe applications for card processing (e.g., transaction authorization, statement generation).
  • Work with VSAM, Sequential Datasets, and JCL for batch and online processing.
  • Participate in full SDLC: requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
  • Provide deployment support, including batch run monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with QA, BA, and cross-functional teams to resolve defects and implement changes.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards, security protocols, and banking regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and Mainframe Z/OS.
  • Experience in CardLink or VisionPlus platforms.
  • Strong grasp of SDLC and change management processes.
  • Prior experience in banking projects, especially Cards domain.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Easytrieve, Web Services, REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Compliance modules and automation tools (e.g., Control-M, Aldon).
  • Exposure to Unix scripting and integration tools

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Role Variants Based on Experience:

Junior to Mid-Level (2–5 years):

  • Assist in development and support tasks.
  • Participate in testing and deployment.
  • Learn and apply banking card domain knowledge.
  • Collaborate with senior developers and QA teams.

Senior Developer – P3 (Advanced, 3–5 years):

  • Execute development and support tasks independently.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with QA and business teams.
  • Focus on defect resolution and batch monitoring.

Senior Developer – P4 (Expert, 6+ years):

  • Lead development and design activities.
  • Mentor junior developers.
  • Drive SDLC processes and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Handle complex modules in CardLink/VisionPlus.
