THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN.

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Medical Technical Assistant 1 supports the Occupational Health program by providing clinical and administrative support to physicians, residents, students, patients, outside clients/customers, and other staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares patients for physician by obtaining vital signs weights/measurements per protocols.
  2. Verifies patient medications and allergies.
  3. Triages on the job injuries according to protocols.
  4. Performs blood draws, nasal swabs, ear and eye irrigations.
  5. Administers injections, record vaccinations; applies bandages, splits/braces.
  6. Assists physician with minor procedures.
  7. Processes CLIA waived testing
  8. Reviews patient charts for accuracy
  9. Documents work status, make referrals, and schedules follow up appointments.
  10. Performs various patient tests.
  11. Responds to and process medical records requests for patients and clients.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of clinical experience.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: CMA, CCMA or LPN. Must be Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed in Tennessee (LPN). (CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to perform venipunctures, administer injections, and measure vital signs.
  • Ability to operate clinical equipment.
  • Good attention to detail.
