University of Tennessee Position Description:

Stadium Maintenance Assistant/Painter

Unit: Athletics

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Date: March 12, 2024

General Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the stadium foreman in painting of all athletic facilities patron areas. Assist in daily maintenance and cleaning when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Apply paint to multiple surfaces including but not limited to walls, floors, doors, windows, hand rails, etc. Repair minor cracks, holes and joints with caulk, plaster or other fillers using the proper equipment and techniques. Apply touch up techniques to multiple surfaces.
  • Assist in set-up, take down, and cleaning for all athletic events as needed.
  • Assist in daily facility and grounds maintenance and cleaning to include pressure washing as needed.
  • Assist in getting Athletic facilities ready for any special event or project as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

Commercial facility experience is required. Commercial painting experience is preferred.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of paint application to different sub-straights.
  • Ability to match different paint colors and techniques for the task at hand.
  • Skills to complete other duties as assigned by the foreman
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to foster teamwork.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations in a positive manner.
  • Ability to complete projects on time.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Ability for critical thinking within the scope of work requested.
