Staff Nurse, RN
Student Health Center
The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the position of Staff Nurse, RN in the Student Health Center. The position is a full-time, Monday – Friday, 8-hour day position.
The mission of the Student Health Center is to provide a comprehensive moderate complexity program of primary health care services relevant to the needs of eligible University of Tennessee students. These services shall include personal health care, health promotion, and education, consultation, and educational experiences for selected students pursuing careers in health professions.
The Position: The Student Health Center seeks a full-time Tennessee licensed Registered Nurse. Duties include the ability to perform initial assessment of each patient seeking treatment, anticipating the medical provider’s needs based on findings, and assisting with examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed. The position ensures necessary equipment and supplies are available for the medical provider, obtains patient consent for treatment through the provision of education, and practices appropriate infection control measures. The successful candidate must record all findings in the electronic medical record, perform medical referrals and follow-up, maintain medical records confidentiality, and respond to medical emergencies based on nursing skill levels. The successful candidate must be willing to work with a diverse patient population and provide services for all eligible students seeking treatment.

Qualifications
What We Require:
Education and licensure:
· Minimum of an associate degree from an accredited Nursing Program; Prefer a bachelor’s degree of Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing program.
· Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse from the State of Tennessee Department of Licensure.
Experience:
· Must have a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital or doctor’s office. Must have previous EMR experience and the willingness to learn a new EMR system.
· Preference given to those with experience in a college health facility.
