The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) is seeking a creative professional to fill the position of Graphic Design Coordinator for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Advancement division. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Graphic Design Coordinator and their body of work will help move the Advancement division toward its operational goals by ensuring programs, events, initiatives, and university priorities are effectively communicated to key audiences—with special attention to visual design.
The Graphic Design Coordinator will produce and develop visual communications for advancement initiatives, working alongside members of the Communications and Donor Experience team and partners across the division. The Graphic Design Coordinator will focus primarily on conceptualizing and producing graphic design projects such as direct mail, print and digital materials for alumni relations, student and young alumni programs, annual giving, development, and stewardship communications aimed at alumni and donors to the university. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Visual Design Projects: Works within the UT Knoxville brand to produce high-quality materials for the advancement division. Determines concept, design, and development of collateral materials making strategic choices for typography, illustrations, and photography. Prepares digital layouts, manages print projects, and manages editing/approval process.
Photography & Special Projects: Coordinates and manages photoshoots with students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Edits, sizes, and archives photography. Manages special visual communications projects as needed. Supports Advancement team by staffing special alumni and development events as needed.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
The candidate who fills the Graphic Design Coordinator position is required to have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years of experience in graphic design, including experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills are paramount, along with creative thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and project management skills and a positive attitude are essential.
Preferred Education and Experience
In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
- Experience with other Adobe programs, Microsoft Office, and digital photography
- Experience with print production
