This position requires the flexibility of working occasional nights, weekends, and overnight travel.
The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work, through the Social Work Office of Research and Public Service (SWORPS) is accepting applications for a Fatherhood Program Coordinator for the Tennessee Child Support Employment & Parenting Program (TCSEPP). The TCSEPP Fatherhood Program Coordinator will be responsible for the creation and management of a program to provide support to those fathers who owe child support. The Fatherhood Program Coordinator will work across the state and is a pivotal role focused on providing support, resources, and guidance to direct service professionals working with fathers who owe child support. The ideal candidate has a passion for supporting fathers and strengthening families and experience with program management and child welfare. They possesses a blend of expertise in fatherhood initiatives, social services, and workforce development. The Program Coordinator's mission is to empower fathers to become more involved parents, improve their employment prospects, increase economic mobility, and enhance their overall well-being.
Job duties are primarily the following:
Program Development and Management
-Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive program encompassing effective strategies for employment support, parenting skills development, child support resources and guidance, and fostering healthy parent-child relationships.
-Collaborate with direct service professionals, child support agencies, and community partners to streamline service delivery and maximize the program's impact.
-Develop evidence-based curriculum, workshops, and training materials tailored to the needs of fathers.
Direct Service Professional Support
-Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and coaching to professionals working directly with fathers, including guidance on navigating child support systems, effective communication, motivational interviewing, and conflict resolution.
-Facilitate case consultations and support groups for direct service professionals, promoting
collaboration, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving
Client Outreach and Engagement
-Develop and execute recruitment strategies to reach fathers who may benefit from the program.
-Establish trust and build rapport with fathers, addressing their individual needs and barriers to
participation.
-Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify areas for support and intervention.
Community Partnership Development
-Forge strategic partnerships with local employers, workforce development agencies, child support enforcement organizations, and other relevant community stakeholders.
-Collaborate with partners to promote the program, create referral pathways, and coordinate
wraparound support services for participants.
Program Evaluation and Data Analysis
-Work closely with evaluation team to implement data collection systems to track participant
outcomes in the areas of employment, child support compliance, parenting involvement, and
well-being.
-Analyze program data, producing reports to inform decision-making and identify areas for
continuous improvement.
-Utilize data insights to advocate for program resources and funding.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Service, Psychology or a related field
- 5 years of experience working with fathers in a social service, child support or workforce development capacity
- Proven track record in program design, implementation and evaluation
- Experience in training, coaching or mentoring service professionals
Preferred experience:
- Master’s Degree
- 10 years of experience with direct service program planning, coordination, and supervision
- Strong cultural competency and commitment to serving diverse populations
Competencies/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of child support systems and their impact on families.
- Ability to design programming
- Knowledge of fatherhood programing and evidence-based interventions.
- Knowledge in workforce development including job readiness skills, job search strategies, and employer relations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in written and oral communication, presentation, analytics and evaluation and effective time management.
