The Office of the University Registrar at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our NCAA Academic Certification Coordinator position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to enhancing the accessibility of higher education, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, and improving the recruitment and graduation of our students. The Position:

This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.

Alongside the Assistant Registrar for NCAA Compliance, this position manages the tracking of the academic eligibility of student-athletes, ensuring that student-athletes are meeting all NCAA, SEC, and institutional policies. Coordinates data collection, validation, and submission of the Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR). The APR and GSR is submitted annually; failure to meet submission deadlines renders an institution ineligible to compete in any NCAA sponsored championship or postseason event. Manages daily operations for monitoring and reporting of progress-toward-degree (PTD), full-time enrollment, and prospective transfer student-athlete evaluations. Coordinates registration changes in collaboration with campus partners. Develops and implements inter-departmental policy as it pertains to the eligibility tracking of our student-athletes based on existing NCAA and SEC bylaws.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree

• Two or more years working in higher education

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's Degree

• Two or more years working in academic advising and/or athletics compliance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work with high degree of accuracy

• Analytic and critical thinking skills

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to prioritize projects

• Foundational knowledge of NCAA Bylaw 14

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High level of competency and skills relating to Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word

• Knowledge and ability to navigate NCAA/SEC academic rules and regulations including: NCAA Applications, Compliance Assistant, Banner, and DARS

The Division

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Center for Financial Wellness, University Registrar, Pre-college Research Excellence Programs, EM Research & Analytics, EM Communications, and EM Operations.
