Administrative Support Assistant III
Student Health Center
The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee invites applications for the position of an Administrative Support Assistant III in the Student Health Center. The position is a full-time non-exempt position, scheduled for 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday.
The mission of the Student Health Center is to provide a comprehensive, moderate complexity program of primary health care services relevant to the needs of eligible University of Tennessee students. These services include medical health care, health promotion, education, consultation, and educational experiences for selected students pursuing careers in health professions.
Qualifications
The Position: The Student Health Center seeks a full-time individual who is willing to work with a diverse patient population and provide services for all students enrolled at the University of Tennessee. The duties include:
· The provision of administrative support for the student insurance program including the opt-out waiver request review, verification of student enrollment in the UT Knoxville sponsored student health insurance program, determining student status for billing, and completion of referral activities for insurance requirements. Must serve as a resource for answering questions regarding the student insurance benefits, requirements, and the Student Health services.
· Performing clerical and administrative support for the Associate Director to assist in the provision of personnel duties for credentialing, licensure verification, scheduling of search committee meetings, maintenance of all personnel files to meet accreditation standards.
· Provides backup and administrative support for the accounting personnel and the immunization compliance staff. Responsible for monitoring student eligibility through the assessment of program services fees.
· Participates in new student and transfer student orientations as needed.

What We Require:
Education:
· Associate’s Degree required
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience:
· Must have a minimum of three years of administrative office experience; Prefer medical office experience.
· Must be detailed oriented, can multi-task, and possess strong verbal communication skills.
· Must have experience working within a windows-based computer system. Prefer electronic health record experience.
Preference noted for an individual who has basic knowledge of medical terminology experience and of the State of Tennessee immunization requirements.
