IT Administrator IV – Microsoft 365 Administrator

Market Range 16

As a Microsoft 365 administrator, you will be crucial in managing and optimizing our email communication systems, ensuring security and compliance, and supporting our collaboration services. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining seamless communication between cloud and on-premises environments, integrating advanced email security measures, and providing excellent support to end-users.

Key aspects of your role:

· Email Administration:

o Exchange Online Management:

§ Administer Exchange configuration, maintenance, and optimization, including mailbox management, distribution groups, and transport rules.

§ Manage user accounts, permissions, and licenses.

§ Implement and manage email archiving and retention policies to meet compliance requirements.

§ Assist in the design and implementation of future-state Exchange environment.

§ Responsible for providing required system reporting (audit, performance, etc.)

§ Provide problem resolution, root cause analysis, management, and documentation of messaging-related issues.

o Fortra Agari

§ Create, monitor, and maintain SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records

o Abnormal (SPAM and Phishing Mitigation):

§ Collaborate with the security team to integrate Abnormal for advanced email security, threat detection, and data loss prevention.

§ Proactively address SPAM, phishing, and malicious emails, ensuring a secure email environment.

o On-Premises Exchange Management:

§ Maintain on-premises Exchange servers (2016/2019) in a hybrid setup, ensuring seamless communication between cloud and on-premises mailboxes.

o Azure AD Connect:

§ Configure and manage Azure AD Connect for directory synchronization within a multi-forest environment.

· M365:

o Manage and support M365 services and applications, including SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.

o Monitor system performance and ensure optimal M365 environment operation.

o Implement and maintain security policies and compliance measures.

o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to M365 services.

o Plan and execute migrations, updates, and integrations with other systems.

o Provide end-user support and training for M365 applications.

o Collaborate with other IT professionals to implement best practices.

o Develop and maintain documentation for M365 configurations and procedures.

o Stay updated with the latest M365 updates and determine impacts and benefits to the ecosystem.

· PowerShell Automation:

o Create and execute PowerShell scripts for routine tasks, such as user provisioning, mailbox migrations, M365 setup and configuration, and reporting.

· Support and Troubleshooting:

o Work with end-users, addressing support-related issues promptly.

· Security and Compliance:

o Enforce security policies, monitor logs, and respond to incidents.

o Participate in compliance audits related to email systems for M365.

· Continuous Learning:

o Stay updated on M365 security best practices and industry trends.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Managing a Microsoft 365 tenant and the full Microsoft suite of applications and licensing.
  • Active Directory management, including Azure AD Connect.
  • Familiarity with Azure and Entra.
  • Scripting and automating processes using PowerShell.
  • Documentation of processes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of IT-related experience, with at least 3 years concentrated in Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft 365 architecture and delivery.
  • Demonstrated strong background in hybrid Exchange 2016 solutions design.
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
  • 3 years of experience troubleshooting end-to-end SMTP and mail flow issues.
  • Demonstrated PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Advanced knowledge of fundamental networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP protocol.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Coordinate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for tasks and projects.

· Hands-on experience creating and managing knowledge documents, including developing process maps, KB Articles, and workflow diagrams.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to professionally interact with users.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.

· Must be self-motivated, have a strong desire to learn, and be adaptable to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Preferred:

· Google Enterprise Workspace familiarity
