Job Description
The Craft Specialist III position will be charged with all property and equipment maintenance as well as other camp responsibilities which includes but is not limited to: cleaning, cooking food for campers, and teaching classes for environmental ed/and other groups on camp.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and upkeep including electrical, plumbing, HVAC system repairs, welding, metal fabrication, and landscaping.
- Supervise maintenance workers and temporary summer staff in carrying out activities in accordance with instructions of center manager.
- Cleaning (mopping, stripping, and waxing floors in bathrooms and cabins, setting up for user groups).
- Cooking and serving food.
- Assist in providing leadership for a program of activities which meet the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
- Five years of experience or completion of trade school or apprenticeship plus three years of experience. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Valid TN driver’s license.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Good public relations skills.
- Advanced level of maintenance knowledge, painting, framing, and metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance.
- How to cut and remove trees.
- General landscaping knowledge.
- Must have ability to repair HVAC systems.
- Welding and carpentry skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal training in the maintenance, HVAC, and plumbing field.
- Basic Skills in General maintenance of farm equipment and refrigeration, gas and electric appliances
