Craft Specialist III-Clyde York 4-H Center-UTIA

Job Description

The Craft Specialist III position will be charged with all property and equipment maintenance as well as other camp responsibilities which includes but is not limited to: cleaning, cooking food for campers, and teaching classes for environmental ed/and other groups on camp.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and upkeep including electrical, plumbing, HVAC system repairs, welding, metal fabrication, and landscaping.
Supervise maintenance workers and temporary summer staff in carrying out activities in accordance with instructions of center manager.
Cleaning (mopping, stripping, and waxing floors in bathrooms and cabins, setting up for user groups).
Cooking and serving food.
Assist in providing leadership for a program of activities which meet the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
Five years of experience or completion of trade school or apprenticeship plus three years of experience. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Valid TN driver’s license.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Good public relations skills.
Advanced level of maintenance knowledge, painting, framing, and metal fabrication.
Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance.
How to cut and remove trees.
General landscaping knowledge.
Must have ability to repair HVAC systems.
Welding and carpentry skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal training in the maintenance, HVAC, and plumbing field.
Basic Skills in General maintenance of farm equipment and refrigeration, gas and electric appliances
