Temporary Print Shop Assistant - University Printing and Mail - UTK Temp
Job Description
This position will operate bindery equipment and perform manual bindery functions, and package finished jobs and write up associated delivery tickets for jobs.
Responsibilities
- Operate bindery equipment such as cutter, three hole drills, automatic punch, laminator, coil and spiral binders, thermal binder, score/perf/fold equipment, Horizon collator and stitcher, shrink wrap tunnel, padding equipment, etc.
- Perform manual bindery functions as assigned.
- Write up delivery slips for finished jobs.
- Package finished jobs for delivery.
- Organize leftover materials for storage and disposition.
- Maintain light bindery equipment and general work area.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year operating light bindery equipment
- 1 year performing manual bindery operations
- Knowledge of bindery equipment.
- Skills to operate and maintain bindery equipment.
- Ability to use a variety of different bindery equipment from different manufacturers.
- Knowledge of bindery principles, techniques and materials.
- Good mechanical skills.
- Good math and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- High school diploma or vocational degree in printing and graphic arts.
- Knowledge of various types of paper and printing techniques.
- 2 years operating light bindery bindery equipment
- 2 years performing manual bindery operations
