The position provides administration support to the Vice Chancellor of Communications and Marketing along with excellent customer service to all guests of the Office of the Chancellor, Chief of Staff, Sr, Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration, Vice Chancellor for Communication and Marketing. Responsible for fielding incoming calls and referring them appropriately. Assists with daily office management duties. Supports University Events and Experiences staff during high-volume events. Exercises good judgement, discretion, and strict confidentiality.

The position will provide administrative support for the Vice Chancellor of Communications and Marketing.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED

  • Experience: 3-5 years in administrative assistant position. Experience working in a formal office environment.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience within the University of Tennessee System. Experience supporting executive level administrators/executives.

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of organization and functions of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including composing and editing correspondence, presentations, and reports.
  • Outstanding professionalism and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities and communication styles.
  • Ability to use sound judgement when making decisions, problem solving, and accessing information as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience using MS Office and related computer/software products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and manage projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the position.

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR06

  • Anticipated hiring range: $48,000 - $55,000
