Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree and at least 4 years professional experience related to duties and responsibilities;

  • OR Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of professional experience related to duties and responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced understanding of multimedia production workflow and techniques in both field and studio settings

  • Solid understanding of production disciplines for print and digital

  • Advanced knowledge of marketing and communications strategies

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Advanced skills with industry standard software packages used in production, or demonstrated ability to learn them quickly

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to lead individuals who are not direct reports

  • Ability to be hands-on with day-to-day tasks, as well as function in a high-level strategic planning capacity

  • Ability to act professionally and represent the office in interactions with clients, including upper-level administration

  • Demonstrated skill and strong judgment in managing the university’s reputation

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in higher education public relations/communications function, including 5 years of video production related experience

Job Description

Works as a member of the video production team within the Office of Communications and Marketing. Collaborates across the office and across the campus to ensure milestones are met in campaigns, programs, and projects that support the mission of the division and the university.

Responsibilities

  • Manages scheduling, planning and logistics for multimedia productions, including providing occasional on-set support
  • Assists with documentation of multimedia productions, including release forms and metadata
  • Drafts project briefs with strategic input from directors and assistant directors
  • Schedules and facilitates planning, kick off, alignment, and review meetings, as needed
  • Advises directors and/or assistant directors and makes recommendations on team assignments and milestones based on other planning, associated projects, capacity, and audience
  • Facilitates communications with campus partners involved in the work
  • Evaluates resources and recommends adjustments as necessary to prioritize projects and keep projects moving forward
  • Works with campus partners and team members to develop and manage estimates and budgets for projects
  • Manages the milestones of multiple, simultaneous projects and provides reviews and status updates to ensure work stays on track and aligns with strategy, as outlined in the project brief
  • Coordinates with other project managers involved with the work
  • Gathers results of projects and facilitates discussions on outcomes to shape future efforts
  • Activates projects in the project management system and owns project boards; completes basic project build out, including documenting all milestones
  • Provides insight to management on process improvements
  • Coordinates with other project managers on overall office capacity, reviews campus partner requests, and makes recommendations on prioritization of resources
