Works as a member of University of Tennessee Winston College of Law Office of Communications. Interdependently creates original visual assets and designs various collateral for print, digital, and multimedia applications that reflect the university's mission, vision, values and work within the established brand guidelines. The designer works independently on assigned projects while collaborating with the communications team to align designs with messaging, branding, and project objectives.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and at least 3 years professional experience in Graphic Design or related field; or bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years professional experience in Graphic Design or related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of industry standard design software
- Working knowledge of best practices in print and digital communication
- Ability to work within established brand guidelines
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to balance multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity and involvement, prioritizing tasks appropriately
- Works independently as well as under guidance from senior team members
- Works well under time constraints or to a deadline

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years professional experience in Graphic Design or related field (Field of Study: Graphic design or related field)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of print processes and techniques
- Knowledge of digital design principles and techniques (responsive layouts, basic CSS, fundamentals of good UX/UI)
- Knowledge of motion graphics design and animation techniques
- Knowledge of video and photography production (including shooting, editing, retouching)
- Knowledge of social media content creation (planning, designing, and producing platform-appropriate graphics, video, and motion assets and making adaptable for multiple platforms—Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X)

- Creates high-quality graphics and visual designs for application across various channels—print, digital, and multimedia—acting as a contributor to high profile projects like national campaigns and as a lead designer on smaller scope projects.
- Fully executes original design projects based on existing brand guidelines for a variety of audiences and stakeholders. Understands brand guidelines and exercises decision-making in design to maintain quality creative output that remains on brand.
- Interprets project goals, audience needs, and stakeholder input to translate requirements into visual designs

- Works independently to apply designs and other key art to defined formats and platform specifications
