This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Strategic Communication and works closely with the Lead Director of Marketing & Communications for the Division of Student Success (DSS). Supports the division's strategic communications efforts through the development and execution of social media initiatives, web content management, and email marketing. This position creates engaging, audience-focused content across multiple digital channels, ensuring communications are timely, accurate, accessible, and aligned with divisional goals. The role collaborates with campus partners to enhance visibility, engagement, and awareness of student success programs, services, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus professional (internship or graduate assistantship acceptable) experience creating and executing communications content.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of social media channels and experience developing social media strategies and content.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to recognize and create content, imagery and text, for a distinctive voice on multiple platforms.

  • Knowledge of communication fundamentals and ability to translate them into specific projects.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.

  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.

  • Photography and videography production skills, primarily on a mobile devices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • 1-2 years full-time experience creating and executing communications content is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Wordpress and/or Sharepoint site functionality.

  • Knowledge of SEO and AEO best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR7

  • Anticipated hiring range: Minimum $46,000

Social Media Strategy & Execution (40%)

  • Plan, create, schedule, and publish content across the Division of Student Success social media channels.

  • Develop social media content calendars that support divisional priorities, initiatives, and events.

  • Collaborate with departmental communicators and social media contacts across the division to coordinate messaging and campaigns.

  • Write engaging copy and source or create supporting visual assets.

  • Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities and emerging trends.

  • Track and report on social media performance metrics and campaign effectiveness.

  • Promote student success stories, programs, services, and events through strategic social media storytelling.

Website & Intranet Content Management (30%)

  • Update and maintain divisional websites and intranet pages with timely and accurate information.

  • Create, edit, and optimize web content to improve user experience and content discoverability.

  • Apply search engine optimization (SEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) best practices to digital content.

  • Collaborate with divisional departments to gather, review, and publish content updates.

  • Conduct routine content audits to ensure accuracy, relevance, and accessibility compliance.

  • Support website improvements through content organization, navigation enhancements, and user-focused recommendations.

  • Work with the Associate Director of Strategic Communications to monitor web analytics and implement content updates based on user behavior and performance data.

Internal Email Marketing & Communications (20%)

  • Develop, write, edit, and distribute email communications for faculty, staff, advisors, and other key audiences.

  • Manage divisional newsletters and select recurring email campaigns.

  • Tailor messaging, tone, and content to meet the needs of specific audience segments.

  • Build and maintain audience lists and distribution groups.

  • Coordinate email deployment schedules and communication calendars.

  • Monitor email performance metrics and recommend improvements to increase engagement.

  • Ensure communications adhere to university branding, accessibility, and communication standards.
