Position Title: Director of Children’s Ministry

Reports to: Pastor

Position Status: Part-Time

Position Summary: The FHBC Director of Children’s Ministry is responsible for creating, managing and directing all aspects of the FHBC children’s ministry (birth through fifth grade) including Sunday School, Children’s Church, mid-week activities, special events, VBS and nursery.

• Knowledge and skills to serve in children's ministry
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to work with children, volunteers, staff, and parents to coordinate children's ministry
• Clearance of criminal background check
• Self-starter and high degree of discipline and strategic focus

• A desire and ability to work as a team and cooperate with others to meet stated goa Is
• Be punctual and attend all required events and activities
• Follow directions and leadership of supervisor, Pastor

• Solve and resolve problems in resourceful, Christ-like manner
• Agree to abide by doctrinal tenets of the church as described in bylaws

Specific Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• Recruit and train Sunday school, Children's Church, mid-week, and special event leaders and volunteers
• Manage the distribution and allocation of curriculum and supplies
• Encourage and support all volunteers including planning and fellowship
• Obtain, edit, and distribute curriculum/crafts/supplies for workers
• Schedule and coordinate placement of volunteer leaders and communicate with leaders as needed
• Plan and support Children's special events including marketing efforts- communicate updating website, social media, print materials, etc.
• Lead and manage all aspects of children's ministry
• Participate in church staff meetings
• Participate and coordinate in outreach to young families
• Communicate children's ministry activities to the church through periodic reports

Preferred Experience, Education, and Skills:

4+ years experience in children's ministry and/or management of children's programs
