Position Overview

The Workforce Success Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive support and coordination for families of young adults with disabilities, helping them navigate services and build independence while working at Special Opps, Inc. Acting as a liaison between families and the organization's directors and managers, the Coordinator ensures each young adult receives personalized, compassionate, and effective support. Additionally, the role involves managing the onboarding and scheduling of Bonner students and assigning job coaches as needed to support program success.

Reports to

Executive Director and overseen by the Garden Director and Special Services Coordinator

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for parents and caregivers
  • Onboard all new staff members
  • Coordinate and oversee schedules and job assignments for staff with disabilities
  • Onboard Bonner students from local colleges and universities and manage their schedules
  • Assign job coaches to the staff as needed
  • Facilitate family meetings and training sessions to increase awareness and skill-building
  • Manage off-site events with staff and job coaches
  • During the school year, collaborate with area high schools to promote and schedule weekly trips to the Special Growers Garden
  • Coordinate and execute Summer Work Program at Special Growers garden
  • Maintain accurate records for each client/family and staff member

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families
  • Knowledge of disability rights, IEP/transition planning, and community-based services
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Must pass background checks and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Special Education, Human Services, Psychology, or related field
  • Bilingual (Spanish, ASL, or other relevant language)
  • Familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities of operating in a garden or outdoor environment
