Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Sr. Software Development Manager/ DME Lead that can innovate with a variety of tools in a cloud environment. If selected for this position, you will join a high-performing team and have the opportunity to influence the operations of a large, complex application directly tied to the mission of a federal agency. This position is part of a project team building a Kubernetes-based capability to support Business and operations. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in Application development using Microservices, DevSecOps, release management, installing and supporting applications and tools within the Agile/SAFe/SDLC lifecycle, and is able to thoroughly troubleshoot.

Future duties and responsibilities:

Must have experience: This position is part of a project team building a Kubernetes-based capability to support Business and operations
• Partners with the necessary teams to fully understand business scope and implement sustainable, cost-effective solutions, adhering to the company’s strategic direction and standards
• Works with external and internal partners to ensure coding best practices and development principles are followed
• Works with team to lead and participate in periodic peer reviews of solution designs and related code.
• Leads Scrums as Scrum Master on a periodic basis as needed
• Works on development projects during code design, development, optimization, deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Oversees team development efforts on distinct projects as needed with responsibilities to delegate individual technical tasks and a successful project delivery
• Provides technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
• Provides status on development projects and issues up to management
• Partners with business liaisons and engineers to translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Develop Architectural patterns to be implemented in engineering the solution
• Work with Solution architect to develop patterns that to be implement in solution
• Participates in the build versus buy analysis
• Creates process flowcharts, diagrams, and other related documentation
• Participates in the design process of new features and enhancements to existing software
• Maintains a broad and thorough understanding of current software development techniques, methodologies, tools, and technologies
• Proposes, implements feasible solutions or processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of applications
• Diagnoses and solves technical problems related to project implementation and ongoing maintenance
• Works independently and delivers on agreed upon timelines
• Analyzes end-user needs and designs, tests, and develops software to satisfy demand
• Diagnoses issues, evaluates and recommends the best resolution plan and executing against that plan
• Provides database integrations/data migrations between applications
• Completes role specific training, certifications, or attend industry events as assigned by the manager on an annual basis

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- This position is part of a project team building a Kubernetes-based capability to support Business and operations
- You will be looked to for architectural design, systems design, and developing unique and elegant solutions to pressing challenges
- Experience in Microservice implementation and patterns
- 10+ years’ experience in a Application development role
- Experience with AWS and cloud architecture
- Experience with the full Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
- Demonstrated innovation with Software development, DevOps in a cloud environment
- Experience with DevOps automation

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $160,000-170,000.
