Position Description:

If you are an authority hands-on .NET WPF Software engineer with strong problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills with the power to co-act with business and technical teams in a multifaceted environment, we have exciting opportunities to build your career.

CGI is seeking a highly motivated DevOps engineer with excellent knowledge in (VBS) Visual Builder Studio & (OCI) Oracle Cloud infrastructure to serve as a key member of our software development team in developing CI/CD pipelines for handling deployments in PaaS layer in combination of the other existing enterprise tools. This role must be performed in Knoxville, TN.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Define and implement a comprehensive cloud reliability and observability strategy, ensuring high availability of the cloud systems
• Design, code, test and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget, using sound software development practices and secure coding requirements
• Demonstrate Hands-on experience building and deploying applications using a variety of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• A DevOps and CI/CD enthusiast who will promote a culture and an environment which unites Agile with continuous delivery, integration, monitoring and automation to help development and operations teams be more efficient, innovate faster, and deliver higher value.
• Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and bottlenecks.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• An excellent understanding/experience of networking, virtualization, storage, containers, serverless architecture/framework and has hands-on experience in building and deploying applications using a variety of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with one of the programming languages (C#, Java, JavaScript, Python).
• Infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform, ARM, …).
• Possess experience working with database technologies (Oracle/PostgreSQL/SQL Server) and demonstrates validated understanding of Database Administration/Dataguard/Backup/Recovery, Security, Audit and Governance.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• Experience in defining and implementing a comprehensive cloud reliability and observability strategy with hands-on experience with containers and container orchestration preferred.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts/ecosystem and deploying applications into EKS. Proficiency with CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins.
• Versioning and release practices (SCM), code teamwork practices (Git).
• Software Development Lifecycle in an agile environment.
• Database virtualization products like Delphix and database replication using Oracle Goldengate. Following certifications are preferred: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, or Kubernetes Application Developer.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $74,600-$143,700.
