Position Description:

We are seeking a Storage Engineer to support enterprise storage environments across CGI and client ecosystems. This role involves working in cross-functional teams to design, deploy, administer, and optimize storage solutions, with a strong focus on NetApp technologies. You will contribute to engineering initiatives including migrations, implementations, support, documentation, and ongoing operational improvements.


This position may be performed remotely; however, travel to CGI and client sites will be required based on project needs.


How you'll make an impact



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement enterprise storage solutions

  • Translate business and technical requirements into detailed system specifications and configurations

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for NetApp StorageGRID deployment, administration, and support

  • Perform engineering activities including configuration, deployment, migrations, proof of concepts, and troubleshooting

  • Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support across storage infrastructure environments

  • Conduct technical analysis to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and operationally sound

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including logical and physical diagrams, test plans, and as-built artifacts

  • Evaluate emerging storage technologies and releases and recommend improvements to existing environments

  • Present technical solutions and recommendations to engineering and operations stakeholders


What you'll bring



  • Strong expertise with NetApp technologies including ONTAP, C-DOT, 7-Mode, OnCommand, ActiveIQ, HWU, and related tools

  • Hands-on experience with installation, racking, stacking, cabling, and deployment of NetApp storage systems and switches

  • Solid understanding of NAS, SAN, NFS, CIFS, DFS, NIS, and Active Directory concepts

  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems

  • Experience with storage capacity planning, monitoring, and performance support

  • Working knowledge of VMware and enterprise infrastructure environments

  • Experience supporting storage migrations and new application deployment initiatives

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

  • Ability to work effectively in skilled, diverse technical teams and engage with clients as a trusted advisor


Desired qualifications / Strongly Preferred



  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or similar platforms

  • PowerShell or Python scripting experience

  • Advanced experience with ONTAP 9.16+

  • Familiarity with SnapMirror for data migration and replication strategies

  • Experience supporting StorageGRID environments

  • Healthcare or hospital systems experience


Certifications: (Nice to have)
o NetApp Certified Data Administrator - ONTAP (N50-160)
o NetApp Certified Storage Installation Engineer – ONTAP (N50-185)
o NetApp Certified Support Engineer (N50-193)

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200 - $154,300.”
