Position Summary:

The Instructional Designer / eLearning Developer will collaborate with various internal and external business partners and stakeholders to design, create, and maintain a variety of engaging learning solutions in the leadership learning and technical support space. This position will focus on developing content for classroom, virtual and eLearning applications.

The Instructional Designer will primarily support HRIS team projects in 2024, delivering training solutions to support Workday HCM deployment and ongoing team member engagement. In this aspect of the role, the team member will work with key stakeholders in HRIS to optimize adoption and ensure confident, consistent team member utilization of the Workday HCM platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies a systematic design process (Agile, ADDIE. SAM) to needs analysis: analyzes performance/behavior gaps, audience, resource needs, constraints, existing content and aligns with business partners on the requirements to achieve desired outcomes

  • Develops attractive and engaging eLearning using graphics, video, audio, and animation.

  • Assists in the conversion of instructor-led learning content to virtual solutions.

  • Thoughtfully curates, analyzes, repurposes, and leverages existing content to design learning solutions to meet business needs

  • Design exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.

  • Incorporates a variety of presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles.

  • Builds and manages strong collaborative relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business partners.

  • Creates alignment on desired results and designs evaluation instruments and data collection approaches to measure learning impact

  • Works with in-house LMS team for content testing and publishing.

  • Develop and support the ongoing Workday HCM training program

  • Maintain and develop Workday HCM knowledge base articles

  • Develop ongoing training and knowledge management strategy resulting from Workday HCM releases and internal enhancements

  • Develop and deliver Workday training materials (video, QRGs, online courses, etc.) for team members, managers, and HR staff

  • Partner with Enterprise Learning & Development Teams to integrate training into the Learning Management System.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of the training program

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study

  • 4+ years of corporate instructional design experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Instructional Design certification preferred

  • Strong organizational skills to balance multiple priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional systems design.

  • Knowledge of change management and project management techniques.

  • General knowledge of learning technologies and eLearning tools.

  • Thorough knowledge of learning assessment and evaluation processes.

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • General knowledge of facilitation best practices for in-person and/or virtual learning.

  • Energetic with a strong positive presence; committed, motivated, and inspires others; cooperative and reliable.

  • Gets work done through others, leverages appropriate influence, and can thrive in a matrixed organization

  • Experience designing leadership learning or soft skills content for corporate learning applications preferred

  • Experience as a training contributor on at least one full-stack Workday HCM implementation or other similar experience preferred
