About The Team

This position will work within the Network Engineering team in Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO), collaborate with other engineering teams, Information Security, Facilities, and vendors to plan, design, implement and oversee all network services.

Primary Qualifications

• Drives innovation and creative solutions that deliver business results while meeting IT operational guidelines.

• 7 or more years of hands-on experience with routing, switching, wireless and WAN technologies

• Advanced understanding of the OSI model, subnetting, TCP/IP, NTP, DNS and DHCP

• Advanced understanding of 802.1q VLANs, spanning tree, dynamic routing w/ OSPF and/or BGP

• Ability to monitor network usage, anticipate problems and recommend/implement solutions

• Excellent documentation and knowledge transfer skills. Ability to understand, create and explain network diagrams, topologies, and concepts. Willingness to mentor more junior engineers.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, including executives, managers, IT professionals, and subject matter experts.

• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources.

• Remain current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available

• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications that can be used for development and break down technical complexities so that they can be easily understood by business units and end users.

Desired Skills

• CCNP and/or PCNSE certification or equivalent experience and skillsets preferred

• Firm understanding of network access control technologies, preferably Cisco ISE.

• Firm understanding of Software defined networking, preferably Cisco ACI and SD-WAN.

• Familiarity with Cisco Meraki technologies

• Ability to perform network performance and packet capture analysis

• Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Next-gen firewalls. Palo Alto and Cisco preferred.

• Experience in JIRA and Agile Methodology preferred, but not required
