Reports to: Receiving and Delivery Coordinator
Duties / Responsibilities:
Administrative
Completes and maintains daily truck log, accurately and completely.
Maintains accurate reporting of all expenses and receipts associated with the day to day use of company credit and fuel cards.
Completes IFTA reports manually and electronically as required.
Reports all unsafe conditions regarding the use of company equipment.
Secures required customer signatures on all shipping documents including load sheets, and/or any other required documentation.
Enters daily time within the computer system.
Uses in cab truck computer for dispatching purposes and enters load and fuel information as required.
Ensures entire vehicle is clean and meets professional standards, and meet all regulations established by operating authorities such as FMCSA and USDOT inspections.
Organizational
Reports to work as required to complete job assignments
Works with the manager to ensure implementation of agreed-upon changes.
Maintains paperwork to include receipts and and/or any necessary documentation.
Interpersonal
Meets the needs and requests of the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
Acts as an ambassador for the company to ensure highest customer service satisfaction.
Technical
Conducts daily Driver Vehicle Inspections required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and USDOT.
Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance to transport equipment to ensure vehicle is in safe operating condition and ready for next-day business to include fueling and pre-loading whenever possible.
Learns and understand transport equipment thoroughly to ensure safe operation.
Inspects all product for damage at time of pick up.
Document findings and submit damage information.
Applies knowledge and understanding of USDOT, FMCA, state, local and municipal rules and regulations governing the transport of company products.
Loads and unloads company products safely and according to all laws and regulations.
Navigates weight restricted highways and curfew governs roads as required for oversize and overweight load dimensions.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment.
Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
Travel Requirements:
Often, some overnight stay required to Home Building Facilities located primarily in TX and MN.
No ride alongs.
Qualifying Driving Experience Requirements
Meet the minimum qualification requirements as prescribed in part 391.11 and 391.41 of the FMCSR.
Minimum age – 21 years
Must possess a valid class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) for the type of vehicle to be driven.
All driver applicants must have a satisfactory safety and work record, be medically qualified, and be qualified through the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Must have a minimum of twelve (12) consecutive months within the last 36 (36) months of current and verifiable driving experience in the type of vehicle to be driven.
Being able to speak, read and write English.
No conviction of more than three (3) traffic violations in the past 36 months.
No convictions of a serious traffic or moving violation as defined in Part 383.5 of the FMCSR in that past three (3) years.
No involvement in a preventable DOT recordable accident in the past three (3) years.
Not more than two (2) preventable incidents during the past three (3) years.
No involvement in a preventable overturn/rollover accident.
No conviction of reckless driving in any type of vehicle within the last 36 months.
No violation of any DOT alcohol and/or substance abuse prohibitions as prescribed in the FMCSR and/or Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
No conviction of driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances in a commercial motor vehicle – ever.
No conviction of possession or transportation of alcohol or controlled substances in a commercial motor vehicle – ever.
Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
