Position Summary
The Network Engineer III is the subject matter expert responsible for planning, designing, installing, supporting, and maintaining large-scale enterprise, datacenter, manufacturing, and retail network infrastructures.


About The Team


This position will work within the Network Engineering team in Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO), collaborate with other engineering teams, Information Security, Facilities, and vendors to plan, design, implement and oversee all network services. This team is responsible for various projects related to the planning, design, implementation, and support of our network infrastructure for our home building division comprised of manufacturing, supply, and transportation facilities.


Primary Responsibilities


• Drive innovation and creative solutions that deliver business results while meeting IT operational guidelines.
• Proactively monitor network usage, anticipate problems, and recommend/implement solutions.
• Remain current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available.
• Understand, create, and explain network diagrams, topologies, and concepts.
• Willingness to mentor more junior engineers.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications that can be used for development and break down technical complexities so that they can be easily understood by business units and end users.
• Work closely with security and architecture teams to provide resilient, secure, and performant solutions.
• Serve as an escalation point for support organization and lower-level engineers.


Primary Qualifications


• 7 + years of hands-on experience with routing, switching, wireless and WAN technologies.
• CCNP and/or PCNSE certification or equivalent experience and skillsets preferred
• Firm understanding of network access control technologies, preferably Cisco ISE.
• Firm understanding of Software defined networking, preferably Cisco ACI and SD-WAN.
• Firm understanding of SD-WAN, preferably Cisco Meraki.
• Firm understanding of public cloud services and hybrid network connectivity.
• Advanced understanding of the OSI model, subnetting, TCP/IP, NTP, DNS and DHCP.
• Advanced understanding of 802.1q VLANs, spanning tree, dynamic routing w/ OSPF and/or BGP.
• Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Next-gen firewalls. Palo Alto and Cisco preferred.
• Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, and Agile Methodology preferred, but not required.
