Position Summary: The objective of this position is to spearhead the Clayton Manufactured Homes (CMH) CAD Platform that will be used for National Product. This CAD Platform will eventually be the standardized CAD platform that all Clayton Manufacturing National Product Lines (NPL) will operate off. This position will need extensive knowledge, intuition and insight surrounding CAD platforms and tools to guide them in making strong recommendations for what will become the CMH CAD Platform and its subsequent environment.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Implement, manage, and be subject matter expert the CMH CAD Platform for NPL (both hardware and software), including annual updates and enhancements.
  • Be continuously aware of all CAD industry innovations.
  • Guide company on recommendations and needs to create, update, and maintain the CMH CAD Platform
  • Oversee and manage software and hardware update changes.
  • Identify, develop, and implement efficiencies within CMH CAD environment.
  • Develop enhancement tools through LISP routines or other programming knowledge.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance appropriate sheets and menus, blocks and libraries, and enhance dimensions and annotation styles.
  • Identify, develop and implement CAD standards to create a disciplined CAD environment. This should include (but not limited to) file path management, naming conventions, libraries, and change request process for needed library items.
  • Create documented policies and procedures, training, and identify areas where controls and governance are needed to reinforce CAD standards.
    • Onboard and train new drafting team members to expectations outlined in documented policies and procedures and subsequent training.
    • Continue training, as needed, for new or updated CAD standards, environment efficiencies or software updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical degree is preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years in AutoCAD
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufactured housing industry, preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
  • A proven ability to communicate with varying levels
  • Attitude that reflects a sense of urgency and a commitment to service and quality
  • Growth mindset
  • Knowledge of engineering and related codes and practices preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
