As the Q-Built Program Manager you will help plan and lead initiatives and processes to ensure we deliver world-class quality in all the homes we build. You will have an opportunity to utilize your knowledge of quality management systems to help us establish a quality management system (QMS) with quality standards that home building facilities strive to meet through a certification program. Your experience in managing programs or projects will be needed to help us set up a cadence of planning quality program actions and executing across a network of 40 home building facilities. You will be a member of the manufacturing leadership team and your knowledge in the manufacturing industry can be leveraged to help gain support for quality program change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with VP, Q-Built and VP, Continuous Improvement to develop and implement a formalized Q-Built Management System (QMS) across all manufacturing operations with particular focus on improving quality.
  • Develop and maintain quality procedures and practices to ensure that the Q-Built Management System (QMS) for the Home Building Group is effective in identifying and correcting any quality defects.
  • Work with leadership in Facilities & Engineering Production Systems to identify & document capital investment opportunities for quality improvements across the production network.
  • Prepare Q-Built project plans, schedules, and budgets by using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
  • Estimate Q-Built project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate stakeholders to understand scope of effort.
  • Direct Q-Built project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
  • Communicate project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in Home Office and business project status update meetings.
  • Resolve project issues by working with team members, business leaders and Home Office teams including marketing and change management best practices.
  • Stay abreast of quality standards, technologies and best practices in the manufacturing industry and propose solutions for the Q-Built Program
  • Interface with senior management on significant matters, often requiring the coordination of activity across businesses or plants.

Qualifications::

  • BS/BA degree in Business or Technical Discipline.
  • 5-7 years of Quality Management and/or Project Management in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience with BRC Certifications.
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office capabilities, including Excel.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data analysis skills a must.
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles and experience implementing LEAN processes.

*MBA or other advanced degree is a Plus

  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician/Engineer/Professional Quality/Statistical Application certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with Hazard and Risk Management.
