This role is an essential part of the HRIS Team within People Operations, working to design and deliver solutions by configuring and maintaining Clayton’s HR platforms. The role will support daily HR operational needs and Workday enhancements for the enterprise, participate in important compliance and internal audit procedures, act as a lead on HR projects, and contribute to the HR platform strategic roadmap executed by the team. This hands-on role will require close collaboration with the different teams within Clayton.
Primary Functions:
- Respond to complex support and troubleshooting requests; respond to advanced support and troubleshooting requests as needed.
- Provide positive and effective customer service to end users including HR professionals, accountants, business leaders, and others dependent on our HR platforms.
- Triage requests based on severity to act with an appropriate level of urgency in resolving or escalating issues.
- Perform regular data maintenance which includes mass loading data or facilitating transactions in bulk.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical questions and issues worked on by teammates.
- Responsible for designing and configuring HR technology to support business needs and ensuring it is presented to team members in a professional, effective, simple, and aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Uphold processes and procedures to ensure the uniform, efficient, compliant, and effective management of the HRIS.
- Support vendor releases including impact analysis, testing new features, and identifying opportunities to leverage new functionality.
- Identify and fulfill needs for the development, implementation, and maintenance of training materials to support the HRIS.
- Author Workday reports for internal team audiences in support of maintaining Clayton’s HR technology.
- Network and engage with HRIS peers, industry groups, and other resources to stay abreast of trends to help Clayton innovate around its use of HR technology.
- Support and mentor teammates through applicable technical development.
- Design and facilitate system audits and proactive processes which protect data integrity and purpose.
- Actively participate conversations navigating project intake, scope development, and project planning.
- Serve as liaison between project team and HRIS Supervisor on applicable projects, when applicable.
- Serve as a technical lead for HRIS projects.
- Lead the formulation of stakeholder options, timelines, and accountability for assigned work.
- Utilize the team’s project and task-tracking tools to log work accurately.
- Maintain successful outcomes on multiple concurrent projects.
- Support and mentor teammates through technical obstacles and project organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or technical HR-related equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting cloud HR software applications in a configuration and troubleshooting role
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office tools including Excel
- Sound ethical judgment and the ability to be trusted to work with sensitive information
- Detail-oriented with good organization and project management skills
- Can operate independently and prioritize work requirements with little to no supervision
- Team player, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, including HR staff, managers, technology professionals, and subject matter experts
- Ability to productively mentor teammates in areas of technical expertise
- Documenting recurring processes and solutions
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Practical understanding of the HR discipline including Benefits, Core HR, Learning, Payroll, Recruiting, and Talent Management
- Workday HCM experience preferred including business processes, calculated fields, and condition rules
- Experience documenting requirements, processes, and test cases preferred
- Experience working in an HCM supporting 10,000+ workers preferred
