Email Marketing Strategist
The Email Marketing Strategist position develops strategy for designated campaigns to create, deploy and optimize the email marketing and SMS campaigns via Marketing Cloud. The Strategist analyzes opportunities for growth and development through data-driven insights, audience segmentation, testing, and personalized messaging. This is a cross-functional role; working with technical, legal, and operational stakeholders to deliver brand consistent and compliant communication plans.
Email Marketing Strategist Requirements
Experience with email QA tools such as Litmus
Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other email/SMS platforms
Experience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, AmpScript, RegEx, Excel, Google Analytics, and Google Data Studio.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign preferred
Experience with customer segmentation
Copy writing and design experience
Understanding of lead scoring and lead routing infrastructure
Ability to prioritize and think strategically
Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude and a test-and-learn mindset
Strong technical aptitude and/or background preferred with an eye for detail
Email Marketing Strategist Duties
Manages, plans, creates, and tests responsive, mobile-friendly email and SMS strategies for deployment within predetermined dates and times for 5-10 unique business units.
Moderates all aspects of email journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including planning, targeting, segmentation, deployment, testing and reporting.
Maintains a monthly email/SMS calendar and cadence to document, schedule, and ensure timely execution for 5-10 unique business units.
Code dynamic content and custom variables within the campaign to drive customization of the emails/SMS and production and launch of multiple versions.
Oversees and sets up one-time or automated email/SMS campaigns including targeting/segmentation, multivariate testing, development of email templates, landing pages, and tracking links.
Delivers timely reporting and insight that accurately measures campaign KPIs, email delivery and performance, and overall return on investment to help drive future strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
Evaluates and tracks email performance within Marketing Cloud and Google Analytics.
Conduct A/B and multivariate tests for optimizing content and segmentations against key metrics including open and click rates.
Test email rendering for consistency across all email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) and devices (desktop, mobile, tablet).
Collaborates effectively with stakeholders and legal across teams and business units to make desired/needed changes and updates to receive required implementation and audit approvals.
Maintain compliance of email marketing programs such as GDPR and CAN-SPAM as instructed by Corporate Legal Counsel and/or Corporate Marketing Compliance Team.
Email Marketing Strategist Education: College degree or equivalent experience required; degree in Marketing/Business or related field preferred.
