Job Summary

Responsible for working cross-functionally to collect data and develop models to determine trends utilizing a variety of data sources. Retrieves, analyzes and summarizes business, operations, employee, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, predict business outcomes and decision-making purposes. Involved with numerous key business decisions by conducting the analyses that inform our business strategy. This may include: impact measurement of new products or features via normalization techniques, optimization of business processes through robust A/B testing, clustering or segmentation of customers to identify opportunities of differentiated treatment, deep dive analyses to understand drivers of key business trends, identification of customer sentiment drivers through natural language processing (NLP) of verbatim responses to Net Promotor System (NPS) surveys and development of frameworks to drive upsell strategy for existing customers by balancing business priorities with customer activity. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Dashboard and Reporting Development:

  • Design and build interactive, insightful dashboards and reports using Tableau to visualize trends, patterns, and insights. Ensure data is presented in a user-friendly and accessible format.

Data Extraction and Analysis:

  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to extract data from multiple sources, including relational databases, data warehouses, and Snowflake.

Data Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement processes to monitor and maintain data quality across all data sources. Ensure that data governance and validation processes are in place to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Data Warehousing:

  • Manage and optimize data warehouse solutions, primarily using Snowflake, to ensure that data is efficiently stored, processed, and easily retrievable for analysis.

Transaction Log Analysis:

  • Work with application transaction logs to extract meaningful data insights, understanding and interpreting operational and event data for various applications and systems.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with business units, product teams, and data engineers to understand data requirements and provide solutions that align with business objectives. Serve as a liaison to bridge technical and non-technical teams.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze existing processes and systems, identifying areas of improvement. Propose and implement enhancements to the BI platform and data pipelines to improve performance and usability.

Documentation:

  • Maintain thorough documentation of BI processes, SQL queries, data models, and data sources. Ensure clear and up-to-date records of processes, procedures, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Tableau Expertise:

  • Advanced proficiency in Tableau for building dynamic, interactive dashboards, with experience in creating complex visualizations and implementing best practices for data visualization.

SQL Mastery:

  • Strong command of SQL, including writing, optimizing, and debugging complex queries for large datasets across relational databases and data warehouses.

Data Warehousing & Snowflake:

  • Expertise in Snowflake for building, managing, and optimizing cloud-based data warehouses. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices for ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.

Data Quality & Governance:

  • Experience implementing and maintaining data quality controls, with a focus on data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Familiarity with data governance frameworks.

Application Transaction Logs:

  • Proven ability to work with application transaction logs, extracting and analyzing data to derive insights from operational and event-driven datasets.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns, and provide actionable insights. Critical thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to translate technical findings into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms beyond Snowflake (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Certification in Tableau or SQL.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Works with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements.
  • Determines relevancy of data and identifies alternative data sources as needed to ensure analytics requested by business stakeholders can be completed.
  • Analyzes large, complex data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
  • Queries disparate big data platforms such as Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop, and AWS.
  • Combines data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis.
  • Identifies key business drivers and insights by conducting exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing.
  • Develops forecasting models to predict sales, demand and other key business metrics.
  • Analyzes the results of campaigns, offers or initiatives to measure their effectiveness and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicates findings clearly and concisely through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations to Company executives and decisionmakers.
  • Promotes and evangelizes a culture of excellence, data driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
  • Stays current with emerging trends in analytics, statistics, and machine learning and applies them to business challenges.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Compensation

National Pay Range: $62,698.24 USD-$146,949.00 USD

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
