Overview

Finance & Accounting Manager

Full time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Corporate Director of Finance, provides leadership to the for-profit business in the consolidated finance department. Responsible for all accounting and reporting functions for this area. Responsible for coordination with the tax department on any tax issues related to the for-profit business. Interacts with all levels of supervision and managers system-wide including senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the for-profit facilities and departments including all medical office buildings within each facility, any joint ventures which is all within the Corporate Finance department.
  • Coordinates and oversees annual budget preparation for the for-profit facilities, joint ventures and medical office buildings within each facility. Responsible for working with department managers and senior leadership on the completion of these budgets.
  • Coordinates with the system real estate department and tax department on any tax related items. This includes sales tax associated with the for-profit facilities, real estate taxes for all facilities and departments within Corporate Finance, notices from any federal, state or other outside department regarding real estate or property tax.
  • Serves as liaison to all independent auditors, regulatory agencies and Federal and State tax agencies. Ensures that all information is accurate, timely and records are in compliance with appropriate accounting principals as it relates to the for-profit facilities in Corporate Finance and any medical office buildings.
  • Analyzes monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness. Identifies and investigates both positive and negative trends found in operational data and opportunities for financial and process improvement.
  • Preparation of the monthly financial statements for the for-profit entities within Corporate Finance and analyzes accuracy of the reporting.
  • Participates on committees and attends meetings pertinent to financial matters related to the for-profit finance with the consolidate finance function.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's in accounting required.

Minimum Experience: Six (6+) or more years of professional accounting experience including two (2+) or more years supervisory experience. Requires fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and practices as well as thorough knowledge of system-wide procedures and policies relating to finance. Strong demonstrated analytical, numerical and computer capabilities. Requires effective human relations and strong communication skills.
