Position Summary:
Plan and direct all activities of the Health & Fitness center to provide quality services and professional management in all areas of the Center while maintaining a multi-million dollar operational budget in accordance with the goals and objectives of Fortress.

Responsibilities
- Manage the operations and personnel of the Health & Fitness Center in accordance with the organizational goals of Fortress in order to achieve monthly and annual financial objective of revenue generation, expenses and net income as state in the budget.
- Coordinate, verify and authorize the annual budgeting process of the Health & Fitness Center by each department.
- Oversee the daily management of the Center regarding decision-making, problem-solving and crisis management.
- Design and maintain the organizational framework of the Health & Fitness Center to provide maximum support, supervision and define the responsibilities of department managers.
- Maintain staffing and supervisory levels at optimum efficiency to provide excellent customer service, payroll integrity and staff support. Monthly monitoring of departmental staffing levels for budget compliance as compared to FTE's and scheduled hours.
- Analyze monthly income and expense reports of the Health & Fitness Center. Submit a monthly variance report to include variance amounts, causes and solutions.
- Verify and code all invoices for supplies and repairs, check requests, session sheets and payroll records of the Health & Fitness Center.
- Provide management supervision of direct reports, weekly managerial staff meetings, departmental staff meetings and training of employees.
- Ensure the effective repair and maintenance of the facilities and equipment of Health & Fitness Center through walk-through inspections, communication with department managers, communication with maintenance, security and housekeeping employees.
- Facilitate short-term and long-term strategic planning in all departments, as well as the strategic development of the Health & Fitness Center as a whole .
- Review all safety procedures with departmental managers, review all accident reports and respond to safety needs as necessary..
- Develop and oversee all marketing promotions, establish sales and attrition quotas and develop strategies for achieving these goals.
- Maintain all licenses and requirements for the Health & Fitness as dictated through the state and county agencies. Knowledgeable of legislative policies concerning the industry .
- Fo.ster and maintain a team concept for all employees.
- Participate in the daily, weeknight and weekend rotation of the Manager-on-Duty schedule.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, sports management, exercise science or related degree; master's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in management in the health and fitness industry required.
