Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting fundraising activities by managing the donor relationship management system. Works closely with gift officers, event staff, research staff, and annual giving/communication staff to create donor lists, pull data for analysis projects and assist them with use of the data system. Responsible for the efficient and accurate gift entry and processing of daily gifts/pledges, daily submission of cash deposit/adjustments to finance department for posting to the general ledger and coordinating the generation of daily acknowledgment letters. Creates, generates and provides daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and others on an ad-hoc basis.
Responsibilities
- Works with Finance department to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of financial information.
- Works with each Development team member to develop meaningful and insightful reports and dashboards.
- Works with Finance and Accounting departments to reconcile monthly financial reports and create executive reports for CDO, CEO, and board.
- Provides leadership and guidance to the Development team on the database system and develops policies and procedures for database improvement.
- Provides donor database training for all team members.
- Prepares data selections for solicitations and mailings (appeals, newsletters, event invitations, emails, etc.).
- Inputs all gift entries into donor database – cash receipts, special events, direct mail, credit card transactions, and online and general donations.
- Serves as the liaison support between Development and Accounting for reconciliation process and manages internal accounting reports and GL postings.
- Provides monthly pledge reminder reports for mailing.
- Provides customized, ad-hoc reports, board/financials, and other necessary reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Creates dashboards and customized reports for Development team members as needed.
- Manages all donor acknowledgement letters.
- Helps coordinate prospect research and grateful patient analysis.
- Local travel required.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in data management, computer science, or accounting/financial management preferred or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in fundraising database management, preferably in healthcare. Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years financial and/or account experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access Query). Proficiency in other database management and/or analytics tools desired.
Licensure Requirement:
Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
