Position Summary:

Responsible for collaborating and implementing the curriculum of adult and junior programs; responsible for teaching in other instructional programs as outlined in the yearly tennis department program including, but not limited to, special events, National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) hitting sessions, team practices, and camps; responsible for assisting in tournaments, league administration, junior and adult clinic administration, and annual planning. Responsible for promoting FSHFC pickleball programs to members, non-playing members, and non-members to grow the pickleball program.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on court instruction and presence in clinics, practices, private lessons, NTRP hitting sessions, camps, and special events as set forth by the tennis department.
  • Collaborates and implements curriculum for adult and junior clinics ensuring the proper progression of participants.
  • Collaborates in the development of and implements curriculum for camps, team practices, and special events.
  • Provides off court service to members by answering general inquiries; ensuring proper placement level in clinics, leagues, activities, special events, and tournaments; and making phone calls to members to fill up programs that need more participants.
  • Works closely with tennis leadership to ensure smooth operation of on-court programming with scheduling and fees, as well as administration of said programming.
  • Actively promotes and markets pickleball programs to raise awareness and increase participation.
  • Assists with department operations as related to water delivery, indoor and outdoor court maintenance, etc.
  • Reports tennis/pickleball facility maintenance issues to tennis leadership.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience:

One (1) year of experience teaching Pickleball.
