Medical Director- Hospitalist Full Time Days
East Tennessee Children's Hospital
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Physician shall provide duties and obligations in administrative, professional, quality, education, regulatory and clinical areas of inpatient care. Responsibilities will be split as such: 30% administrative time dedicated to leading the hospitalist team and 70% clinically focused. This position will include a faculty appointment with the University of Tennessee- Graduate Scholl of Medicine, rank commensurate with experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of pediatric hospitalists and hospital based advanced practice providers.
Minimum Education: Pediatric Residency and or Fellowship
License/Certification Required: Board Certified/Board Eligible in general pediatrics and able to obtain an unrestricted Tennessee Medical License.
Minimum Work Experience: 5-7 years of leadership experience strongly desired.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in administrative decision making.
- Communicates regularly with the VP of Ambulatory Services and Chief Medical Officer to create quality assurance, cost saving, standardization, and other opportunities to crease access for our patients.
- The medical director helps support the care-related activities of the interdisciplinary team, helps the organization ensure that its medical records systems meet the needs of patients and providers, ensures adequate documentation of patient care and related information, advises and supports the providers and the organization regarding family issues, for example, concerns about the appropriateness and timeliness of the care.
