RN Nurse Manager- Critical Care Transport

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role will oversee and manage the operations of a specialized transport team that provides care to critically ill or injured neonates or children during interfacility transfers. This includes selection and training of the team to maintain a high standard of care that enhances the overall quality and efficiency of the program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Number of Direct Reports: 20+
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing Required
Degree: Master’s degree in nursing or related field preferred.
License/Certification Required:
- TN or Compact RN Licensure Required
- NRP, STABLE, PALS, ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
- BLS required
- Neonatal/ Pediatric Transport Certification (NPS or C-NPT) preferred
Minimum Work Experience:
- 3-5 years clinical experience with neonatal / pediatric nursing required
- Management experience required
- Previous ground transport program administration experience preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and develop tactical plans in line with company strategic vision, including project proposals and implementation strategies to ensure excellent clinical standards are adhered to.
- Develop and implement metrics to measure execution and success of clinical activities and objectives.
- Ensure accurate input of information for establishing, tracking, trending, and analyzing quality indicators.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and rules of accrediting bodies and initiating change when needed- Rules of the Tennessee Department of Health Division of Emergency Medical Services.
- Ensure clinical staff maintain required standards and competencies in accordance with applicable accreditation standards and Tennessee Emergency Medical Services Board and Tennessee Perinatal Care System Guidelines for Transportation.
- Manage human resources effectively to include team member selection, onboard and ongoing training, staffing, scheduling, feedback, and disciplinary action as necessary.
- Works to improve and/or maintain the quality of services provided. Seeks, listens and responds to feedback promptly and willingly, serving as a role model for staff. Stays current with evidence-based clinical practices making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
- Coordinates communication with and among multi-disciplinary teams of providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, medics, transfer center staff and related organization partners.
- Supports and collaborates with department and hospital financial partners and leaders to submit annual revenue report, review billing, maintain receipt and invoice records, upkeep of p-card transactions, expense and budget management.
- Provides for the safety of all team members, reports environmental /safety hazards to administration.
- Actively participates in staff education activities such as serving as instructor, preceptor, or staff mentor when called upon. Achieves and maintains simulation facilitator training per Simulation Center standards.
- Performs general care assignments with ability to provide emergency/critical transport basic and advanced care skills to the fullest scope of his/her licensure, while additionally demonstrating knowledge and ability to provide clear and complete instructions for patient/fam10-12 Bullet points highlighting the essential functions of the job.

- Heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling is required up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20-30 lbs frequently, and 10lbs constantly to move objects of up to 150 lbs. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 150 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting squatting, reaching, and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
