BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Manager of Total Rewards is responsible for managing Compensation and Benefits through analysis, development, evaluation, and implementation of the organization's compensation and benefit plans.

REPORTS TO

  • Director -Human Resources

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree required; Masters preferred

Degree: Degree in related field

License/Certification Required: Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or other combination of comparable World at Work certifications, is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in leading an organization’s function of compensation, benefits (including retirement plans) and the human resources information systems that support those programs; at least 2 years of leadership experience is required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Expert knowledge of compensation, benefits, and applicable regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and capability to manage and support the design of compensation models and establishing pay ranges.
  • Must display strong self initiative and demonstrated ability of analytical skills and accomplished project management.
  • Strong experience with conducting market survey analysis to make sound recommendations on competitive pay practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and Power Point required.
  • In depth work experience or knowledge of fully funded and self insured benefit plans and incentive compensation programs.
  • Practitioner of total rewards concept- including employee appreciation, work/life experience, etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proficiently directs the responsibilities that encompass a successful and effective compensation and benefit program for the organization. This includes, all health and welfare plans, pension, life, voluntary benefits, etc.
  • Seeks and maintains the most current knowledge and understanding for their area of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates commitment to investing in HR systems and Reward programs and their processes that support our business needs, improve efficiency and put decision making, accountability and rewards in the hands of employees and managers.
  • Leads strategy to drive automation for all HR functions as much as possible and approved.
  • Supports cross-functional process improvements across the HR team that increase and customer service and satisfaction.
  • Provides necessary training, training guides and ongoing support to internal HR team.
  • Actively participates in the New Employee Orientation and Leadership On-Boarding process for all new employees and new leaders in their department/unit.
  • Effectively leads and participates in the performance management of staff.
  • Accomplished ability to partner with outside vendors, managing their services so that we get the most ROI out of the contract.
  • Creative abilities to create training, enrollment and other publications and materials internally with support from Marketing.
  • Plans are based upon strategic goals of the Hospital, financial position of the Hospital, employer of choice objective, presenting a positive image to the public, legal requirements, and employee feedback.
  • Designs ongoing monitoring processes to assure consistency, controls and compliance for being met through all of the reward programs.
  • Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.
  • Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 pounds frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure for lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching, and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
