BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position is responsible for the implementation of complex Epic tools and processes, and the proactive support and maintenance of assigned Epic modules. Works independently with minimal supervision to effectively scope, plan, and deliver on customer requests to include break fix issues and projects. Serves as the Epic Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned Epic module(s) and possesses a depth and breadth of knowledge across the Epic platform. Aids in decisions on integrating applications and improving Epic workflows. Utilizes best practices to implement and document consistent Epic builds. Takes ownership of high complexity issues. Highly responsive to customers and shows an aptitude for the development and documentation of customer requirements. Serves as a mentor to junior analysts learning Epic.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Minimum Education: Associate degree in computer science, information technology, nursing or related field.
License/Certification Required: Appropriate Epic Certification(s) Required
Minimum Work Experience: Seven years’ experience in Information Technology, clinical operations, or related field. Three years experience Epic.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in the analysis, selection, design, development, and implementation of clinical information solutions.
Consistently develops practical and detailed project work plans and test plans according to departmental standards.
Coordinates the development of functional design specifications interface specifications, conversion specifications, and database structures.
Ensures system user interfaces are designed to maximize efficient and error-free utilization by the user.
Consistently notifies management of problems or delays related to the project and provides alternative approaches.
Effectively performs as a member of the project team; works with other personnel assigned to the project to efficiently perform assigned tasks.
Accurately evaluates existing systems, both manual and automated; effectively analyzes alternate approaches for meeting user requirements.
Serves as a mentor to junior analysts learning the Epic platform, providing them with guidance for day-to-day support of existing Epic modules.
Acts as the Epic SME within the IT department.
Provides guidance to junior analysts during resolution of Epic system issues, or implementation of system changes.
Effectively facilitates communication with user departments to exchange information and ideas, review requests for service, and/or resolve problems to meet customer needs.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert related to the users' environment and information needs.
Consistently demonstrates effective verbal communication skills; communicates ideas clearly and in a manner appropriate for the audience.
Participates in strategic information planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and other information systems related task forces.
Actively participates in meetings, completes assignments timely and accurately.
Effectively consults with other users and with IT staff to ensure that all data gathering is accurate and consistent.
Accurately evaluates existing systems, both manual and automated, including volumes, data flow, documents, reports, and other important factors.
Effectively prepares and presents documentation appropriate for the members of the task force.
Leads Epic projects independently as defined by the IT project management methodology.
Coordinates and conducts meetings with end users, IT and vendors as required.
Prepare meeting agendas and disseminate meeting minutes in a timely manner.
Seeks guidance from project managers, supervisors, and IT leadership appropriately.
Routinely keeps management informed of any potential issues.
Analyzes and revises existing system procedures to resolve complex problems, updating or creating documentation, as necessary.
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of Epic and assigned departmental systems as well as internal communication, presentation, and data management systems.
Assesses problem situations with care and considers all aspects before pursuing a solution; demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Develops accurate and informative presentation material as required to illustrate complex
technical and functional concepts.Demonstrates good written communication skills; writes documents and reports clearly, concisely, and grammatically correct.
Maintains current knowledge of corporate and departmental policies and procedures, applicable regulatory agencies, and information systems security policies and procedures.
