East Tennessee Health Information Network (etHIN) is a non-profit, community initiative established in 2005 to serve the needs of health care providers in a primary 23-county region in eastern Tennessee. etHIN’s purpose is to provide a secure healthcare information network that is used by authorized providers, supports improving patient outcomes, and helps lower the cost of health care. etHIN manages state-of-the-art technology to provide access to patient information by authorized providers, enabling quick access to patient information for medical decision-making and a secure infrastructure for care coordination and communication. etHIN makes health information sharing available to members of its trusted health care community, including physicians, clinics, diagnostic centers, hospitals, long term care, and other point-of-care facilities in Tennessee. By connecting through etHIN, participating providers can access community-wide information that allows them to provide the safest and highest quality patient care possible.
