Jewelry Television - Closed Captioning Agent and Master Control Operator

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Work Hours: 7:45am to 4:15pm

Overview of Position

· Closed Caption Live JTV and JTV2 Recorded shows with Dragon Naturally Speaking voice to text software and caption maker

· Master Control of Networks – JTV, JTV2

· Downlink Monitoring and Logging

o Captioning

o Network Feeds

o Loudness

· Equipment Monitoring

· Facebook Live Streaming Control

· Network Communications – Affiliates, Management ETC.

· Routing Control for Production Video and Audio

· Monitor the JTV and JTV2 AV signal to and from the Satellite including Closed Captioning via Multi-viewers to ensure FCC Closed Captions Requirements

· Dictate vocally to the closed caption workstation using Dragon Naturally Speaking into Caption maker software

· Playback JTV2 shows with Nexio software and switch with Utah Scientific Master Control switcher

· Downlink monitoring on all feeds, SES1, Dish, Direct, United Teleports KU and OTT

· Routing control for network and monitor all equipment for problems via software programs and monitors

· Log and escalate issues as required as seen or as reported by production personnel

· Operate PTZ cameras

· Clear snow from satellite antennas.

· Assist Engineering in moving equipment or mounting in racks

· Assist Broadcast Production and Engineering teams as requested

• Position Requirements

· Knowledge and understanding of broadcast equipment and signal flow. Ability to read and understand FCC and engineering standards or previous knowledge of TV standards.

· Must be able to speak what is heard into a microphone over long periods of time. Must be able to recognize problems and resolve them with the ability to work under pressure when the situation requires it. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

· Degree in TV Production or minimum experience 1-2 years working in a medium to large market TV station is preferred.

· Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook. Problem solving skills. Managing equipment and deadline specific schedules.

· Possesses the ability to adapt solutions to new situations requiring significant reasoning or interpretation.
