About the Role: This role is intended to assist with KUB’s wastewater planning, operations, and maintenance programs. This position involves preparing and reviewing hydraulic modeling reports to guide system planning. This position utilizes modeling software to perform hydraulic simulations and analysis. This role oversees planning activities for wastewater collection systems, including budgeting, conceptual design, and scheduling. This role also assesses the hydraulic design of wastewater facilities to verify that they meet the intended design goals and performance criteria. This position conducts wastewater flow monitoring and manages sanitary sewer overflow reporting to ensure system integrity and compliance with regulations. This role helps oversee collection system maintenance contract work, including blockage abatement, CCTV, and smoke testing. This position provides engineering design and technical support for emergency response during dig-ins, pipeline repairs, and other emergency response events.

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Civil, Biosystems, Mechanical, or related engineering field from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university
General knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, ESRI ArcMap, PCSWMM or equivalent hydraulic modeling software, and computer-aided drafting programs such as AutoCAD
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate policies, procedures, and objectives effectively
Valid driver's license
Preferred Requirements:
Three or more (3+) years of experience in engineering, planning, project management, operations, and/or construction of utility mains, services, meters, and stations
Ability to obtain an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification within one year
Advanced Engineering degree
