About the Role: Performs GIS work using Esri applications suite, program management, and data analysis to support business processes and the efficient operations and maintenance of KUB’s natural gas system. Responsibilities include constructing maps, creating models using Arcmap Model Builder, querying from company AMS/GIS databases and creating dashboards. Responsibilities also include working with engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance to execute all phases of program management including planning, spatial (GIS) and tabular analysis, work performance, QA/QC activities, and evaluation for continuous improvement. Tasks include improving data quality in Geographic Information and Asset Management systems and extracting value from big data sets by identifying trends and patterns. Will be involved in field visits, documentation, and providing metrics, reports, and actionable insights to the organization. Seeking candidates who want a collaborative environment with office and field personnel, have a natural tendency for continuous improvement, possess initiative and critical thinking skills, and are able to identify and solve problems of varying complexity.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and/or exceed those demands described above.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in GIS/Geoscience, Data Analytics, Supply Chain/Logistics, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or closely related field

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills to communicate policies, procedures, and objectives effectively

  • Strong analytical and project management skills

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements:

  • Three or more (3+) years of experience in utilities, GIS/data analytics or program management

  • Strong computer skills including general database knowledge (including SQL), PowerBI, Esri GIS, and IBM Maximo Asset Management

  • Knowledge and experience writing and running queries and creating reports in enterprise systems

  • Background in the utility industry and operational aspects of natural gas distribution including knowledge of CFR 49 Part 192
