Classification: Business Analyst

Work Hours: 40+ hours / week: M - F

About the Role: This position is ideal for an individual with accounting, data analytics, and a finance background. Primary responsibilities include: ensuring business processes, administration, and financial controls. Daily tasks include: reviewing financial reports and preparing financial forecasts, monitoring financial details to ensure legal compliance, customer billing and accounts receivable, invoice processing, order fulfillment, and customer/financial systems related functions. Examples of work activities include but are not limited to: developing and using complex database and spreadsheet applications; mining, problem-solving, analyzing and interpreting quantitative data from enterprise systems; general ledger entries, report processing and writing; working cooperatively and communicating with a variety of groups or individuals in order to analyze revenue and expense streams and report financial data. Must have strong attention to detail, organization skills, and proficient at analyzing
information. Must work well with various groups of employees in order to maintain quality performance and excellent customer service. Must be flexible in performing daily tasks and accept additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and / or exceed those demands described above.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field such as Business, Accounting, or other related field from an accredited four-year college or university

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, written, verbal, and team skills

  • Strong analytical and project management skills

  • Ability to work on projects in a timely manner

  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office products

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Requirements:

  • One or more (1+) years of experience in accounting or related field

  • Advanced degree in business or accounting

  • Knowledge in the utility industry

  • Ability to demonstrate competencies such as strong analytical skills, leadership, coaching, and teamwork skills
