Classification: Engineering Associate
Work Hours: 40+ hours / week; M-F

About the Role: Maintains and updates KUB’s utility records, mapping and asset management system using ESRI, GPS, and AutoCAD software. Responsible for using KUB’s engineering IT systems to keep field assets accurately mapped and create As-Built drawings. Maps new and abandoned utilities including mains, services, and other equipment. Manages record drawings and other valuable documents needed to maintain a living record system for KUB’s gas system and serves as a resource for researching historical documents as needed for project planning. Analyze data using ESRI, Maximo, and Excel and provide information graphically to support programs and presentations. Supports storms and other emergency events. Take GPS background shoots to utilize in creation of as-built drawings.

Physical Requirements:
Works in an office setting with field activities required. These field visits may include: emergency response activities and support beyond normal business hours, heavy lifting or strenuous work and mobility over rough terrain. Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and working in awkward and strenuous positions at times. Occasionally requires above normal mental and visual alertness. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and/or exceed those demands described above.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Good personal computer skills with the ability to learn and use ESRI, AutoCAD, Maximo, GPS Equipment, SharePoint, and Excel
Good written and oral communication, interpersonal, and team skills
Have and maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Requirements:
Associates degree in Geographic Information Systems, Engineering Technology, or similar area of study from an accredited community college or university
2+ years experience in engineering or construction, preferably with a public utility
Experience with GIS, ArcMap, ArcPro, AutoCAD, Maximo, GPS Equipment, and Excel
