About the Role: Make a direct impact on building a more resilient, affordable, and sustainable energy future. The Utility Transformation Analyst will further KUB’s operational flexibility initiatives to strengthen resilience, affordability, and sustainability across utility operations. This position plays a critical role in deploying innovative products, programs, and technologies that enable both customer-facing and operational load management solutions.
In this role, you will:

  • Support build-out of flexible load technologies (e.g. energy storage, distributed generation, managed charging, smart thermostats, etc.)
  • Analyze load profiles, historical SCADA/system data, rates, and user segments to inform program design and operational strategy
  • Determine feasibility of new initiatives by performing cost-benefit analysis, ROI projections, and grid impact assessments
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, rates, new service, and customer facing teams to assess needs and pilot solutions
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends in energy storage, demand response, electrification, distributed energy resources, and rates to identify opportunities and guide long-term planning

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university

  • Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in related field

  • High proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Excel, Power BI, PPT, Outlook, etc.)

  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and team skills

  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment with individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Requirements:

  • Two (2) or more years utility experience supporting utility transformation and grid modernization efforts

  • Working knowledge of load management technologies (energy storage, demand response, etc.)

  • Experience analyzing utility interval data and rates in Power BI and excel

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across teams

  • Master’s degree in engineering, sustainability, or related field
