Description

Summary The Accounts Payable Team Associate is responsible for accurate, timely and complete processing of all AP transactions and coding to General Ledger

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors receipt of vendor invoices and processes timely in accordance with company policy
  • Reconciles vendor statements and communicates results to vendors and internal staff to ensure timely payment processing against vendor payment terms.
  • Prioritize daily and weekly workloads to meet department deadlines and closing schedules.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and other stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Communicate any and all accounts payable issues to the department manager/supervisor on timely manner and before department deadlines
  • Comply with company internal controls and confidentially with regards to all accounts payable information
  • Assist in month-end closing activities within accounts payable area
  • Participate in company audits by external audits or governmental agencies as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or company management

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree preferred

Other Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of accounts payable and/or general accounting experience
  • Basic accounting knowledge, including debit/credits, general ledger structures
  • Average knowledge of computer systems and software; must know Outlook, Excel, etc.
  • Average knowledge of ERP financial modules, including accounts payable, general ledger, and fixed assets
  • Ability to work in fast paced and high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments and deadlines
  • Ability to be accurate and detail oriented
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service skills
