Summary This position will work with the Powertrain Engineering Manager to plan, coordinate, product design, test, analyze and execute for a complete scope of work required for powertrain development projects. Support the engine calibration process by modifying existing calibrations to support boat and engine changes and improvements, develop test plans, performing necessary tasks to carry out the test plans and maintain documentation in accordance with Malibu project requirements. This position will also support the manufacturing team to insure successful new product launch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engine calibrations that meet the required emission standards and durability while delivering world-class performance and reliability
- Plan and coordinate day to day activities of the dynamometer and on-water test vessels for calibration development.
- Document test results, maintain records for analysis and coordinate communication with other personnel or teams that will be affected by the testing results.
- Compose reports and present results to include conclusions with recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, components needed for testing.
- Works Daily to solve complex problems and determine best path, with a strong grasp of root cause analysis
- Works daily with multi-discipline teams to coordinate the development and implementation of new products
- Regularly Investigates system/product weaknesses to continuously improve and prevent further issues

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
BSME or related technical degree required
3-5 years engine calibration development and dynamometer experience required
Boat operation experience preferred
Experience in common hand tools required
Basic understanding of boat powertrain components required
Basic understanding of engine diagnostic equipment
Experience in 3D solid modeling, SolidWorks preferred
Language Skills
English required. Effective communication skills will be necessary to perform tasks.
Mathematical Skills
Will use mathematics to solve problems, up to the algebraic level.
Reasoning Ability
Must maintain a strong understanding of general problem solving, logical reasoning, and root cause analysis.
Other Qualifications
Must be willing to travel to offsite testing location for extended periods of time, such as Florida or Michigan.
